Explore the Museum’s interactive exhibits as a group. Includes:

Offered 9:30-11:30 AM, noon-1:30 PM or 1:30-3 PM • Monday-Friday
Minimum of 10 students or minimum payment of $50 is required.

Focused Field Trips-$7.50 per child

Enhance your visit with a program that encourages learning through materials, props, demonstrations and group interaction. Includes:

Offered 9:30-11:30 AM or noon-2 PM • Monday-Friday
Minimum of 25 students or minimum payment of $187.50 is required.

Be A Maker (BAM) Field Trips-$10-15 per child

Conducted in our Be A Maker space, these do-it-yourself BAM programs feature real tools and resources to help kids learn new skills and share their work. Includes:

Offered 9:30-11:30 AM or noon-2 PM • Monday-Friday
Minimum of 10 students or minimum payment of $100 is required; maximum 30 students.

Special Admissions Program

The Museum is pleased to provide reduced admission to groups that qualify for assistance.
Your group may be eligible for reduced admission based on the number of students who qualify for free/reduced lunch through the National School Lunch program or Child and Adult Food Care Program, and/or have special needs. To find out if your group is eligible, please download the Special Admissions Program application or email groups@bbcmkids.org to have a copy emailed to you.

The Special Admissions Fund was established in memory of Mary Leach Smith. Major support for the Special Admissions Program is generously provided by Denise & Gary Elfe. Additional support is provided by the Zilber Family Foundation and the D.R.E.A.M. Fund.

Lunches

The Museum does not have on-site group lunch facilities. Weather permitting, you may picnic in the adjacent O’Donnell Park; however, the Museum does not have a place to store lunches. Please plan your visit accordingly.

Be A Maker Field Trip Workshops

Mega-Fort (K5-4th grade)
Who wants to build a fort? We do! Using real building materials, students will construct (and maybe demolish!) structures they design with a group. A mini building project for the classroom is included.

Fluid Formations (2nd-4th grade)

The future is now! Children will design and build their own art-generating robot to take home. Before they go, they can unleash them in the BAM space to create a collaborative work of art.

NEW! Blast Off! (K4-4th grade)
Blast off! Children will design, build and test their very own rockets, and then launch them dozens of feet into the air in the Museum’s atrium! Students will learn the importance of multiple iterations, that persistence pays off and that small adjustments can make a big difference.

Reader’s Theater: Museum Style! (2nd-4th grade)
What, where, when, why, how – and wow! Language arts take “center stage” when stories come to life in the Museum’s Theater. Children will plan, practice and perform scripts, and experiment with roles, improvisation and setting the scene. Through an in-class component, students will be able to perform stories that they write prior to visiting the Museum on our Theater stage.
