Facility Rental

Please note that the information below is for renting the Museum space only, located on the second floor of the Miller Pavilion. Museum space does NOT include banquet hall, conference or meeting space. Events hosted at the Museum are set up amongst the exhibits currently on the Museum floor and availability is based upon our calendar of events. Events held at the Museum are generally child- or family-focused occasions.

If you are interested in renting the Miller Room, please click here for more information. The Miller Room is a banquet hall, located on the first floor of the same building that holds the Museum, that is appropriate for wedding receptions, corporate dinners and other major events. It is owned by Milwaukee County and rentals are coordinated by Zilli Hospitality Group.

Museum Rental
The Museum provides a wonderful venue for your meetings, special events, holiday parties, school functions, baby showers and more! Located at Milwaukee's O'Donnell Park, the Museum setting includes two outdoor balconies with a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan. The Museum's downtown location and area parking offers added convenience for your guests. Reserve the entire Museum and accommodate up to 300 guests, or just rent a room (our kid-friendly theater-style rooms or birthday-themed room) for groups of 25 - 100.

Customize your event
Museum rental offers flexibility, as Museum staff will coordinate your rental of Museum space, but the rest is all up to you! You may work with the caterers and vendors of your choice to design your event. The Museum has limited visual and sound equipment available for presentations.

The big day
Museum staff will be here to support your function and keep the Museum looking its best during the event.

Rental options:

  • Entire Museum - 2nd floor exhibit area and 3rd floor rooms: $1,300 1 - 5 hours - capacity 300
  • Exhibit area - 2nd floor: $1,000 1 - 5 hours - capacity 300
  • Marcus Children's Theater* - 3rd floor: $100 1 hour - capacity 100
  • Northwestern Mutual Quiet Room* - 2nd floor: $70 1 hour - capacity 25 - 50
  • Harnischfeger Party Room - 3rd floor: $70 1 hour - capacity 30 - 35
*Theater style seating.

Fees include Museum personnel and custodial services. Additional fees will be applied for extended use or special cleaning requirements. Non-profit groups receive a 10% discount.

The following rental equipment is available upon request for $25 each:

  • Overhead and screen
  • DVD player and television
  • Sound system and microphone
  • Laptop/LCD projector

A 25% deposit and a signed rental contract are required in order to hold a reservation.
