Rich educational experiences help young children develop important school-readiness skills, lifelong values and an understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. The Museum is a critical community resource that provides quality early learning opportunities that prepare young children to become accomplished students and productive adults.
Milwaukee is one of the poorest major cities in America, with thousands of children living in poverty; research confirms that these children stand to benefit the most from experiences like those offered at the Museum. Each year, our organization provides free/subsidized parenting education programs, family memberships, admission, field trips, transportation assistance and events to ensure that our community’s most vulnerable children, families and groups can benefit from our commitment to early education, including families living in poverty, foster families, teen parents, at-risk fathers, families that do not speak English as a first language and others whose circumstances often limit their access to educational resources that can have a profound influence on a young child’s life. For many, the Museum offers a safe haven from difficult living conditions, providing families with an opportunity spend time together in a welcoming and enriching environment.
The Museum is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that does not receive operating support from the United Way, UPAF, or from city, county or state governments. Private contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations are essential to sustaining our operation and our commitment to supporting disadvantaged families in our community.
Each generous tax-deductible donation* will help fund:
Helping every child become an accomplished student and a responsible adult benefits our entire community, and represents an investment in strong families and the future of our local economy and workforce. Thank you for considering a gift to support the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum’s educational mission. Unrestricted gifts of any amount enable the Museum to direct funding where it is needed most.
As Milwaukee’s only hands-on museum specifically designed to benefit young children, the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum serves as an important destination for parents, grandparents, educators and other caregivers. The Museum’s interactive exhibits enable children and adults to learn alongside each other and enjoy quality time through age-appropriate, hands-on (and fun!) learning experiences. Visitors also benefit from a variety of workshops, demonstrations, performances and events that help young children build literacy skills and underscore the importance of early science, technology, engineering, the arts and math education.
Tax-deductible gifts of any amount and/or the purchase of a Museum supporter membership will help sustain our non-profit mission and ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of disadvantaged families in our community.
Early education is the best investment that our community can make in children, families and our long-term economic and workforce development. Thanks to the generosity of local business and civic partners, the Museum serves as an accessible educational resource for our diverse community and provides innovative evidence-based exhibits, programs and services to inspire our next generation of leaders. The Museum is honored to provide recognition for companies and businesses that support our work, including membership programs that offer free year-round Museum access for company employees and their families. The Museum also offers a broad range of exhibit, program and event sponsorships that provide local and national visibility for our partners.
