Museum Information
We recommend kids (and adults) of all ages to explore and enjoy our exhibits, but the ones who tend to have the most fun are typically children ages 2-8.
Our current hours are Wednesday-Monday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The Museum is closed to the public on Tuesdays.
The Museum is open for normal hours on the following holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Indigenous People’s Day and Veterans Day.
We are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, September 2-5, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Admission for children 1+ and adults is $13 per person on weekdays and $14 on weekends. Admission for seniors is $12 (60+). Children under 1 are free! Members can access the Museum for free year-round.
Please note: Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (18+) at all times. No adult may enter without a child, unless meeting a confirmed group.
Families typically stay at the Museum for 1.5 - 3 hours, although they’re welcome to stay longer. Slower times tend to be weekday afternoons.
Yes! Strollers are allowed on the Museum floor, but please note that double-wide strollers or large wagons can cause congestion in the busier areas of the Museum. We ask that guests be mindful of the space around them and leave strollers in designated Stroller Parking areas.
Yes! We have a Nursing Room located in our Pocket Park exhibit on the South side of the Museum. We kindly ask that guests use the restrooms for diaper changes, as the Nursing Room is not properly equipped for diaper changes.
Yes! Our Quiet Room is located right outside of our Be A Maker space on the North side of the Museum. Our Quiet Room can be utilized by any guest at any time during their visit. The room is equipped to be darker and quieter than the rest of the Museum and is filled with toys, books and puzzles.
Yes! There are a limited number of wheelchairs available for visitors to use. Guests can check out a wheelchair from our Information Desk and will need to provide an identification card.
Our café offers small snacks, popsicles, juices and Stone Creek coffee.
Yes! Families can bring in their own food and beverages, but we ask that all consumables need to be enjoyed in our café. We also have snacks and drinks are available for purchase in our café. Groups of 8 or more cannot occupy the café, but may sit in the Atrium level or outside. Cakes, coolers, and/or catering are not permitted.
Admission/Tickets + Membership
Reservations are not required, however we highly recommend guests book their tickets in advance especially during historically busier times, such as holidays and winter/spring break.
Of course! Museum admission is valid for the whole day. If you plan on leaving and returning, make sure you receive a have a hand stamp at the Information Desk or receipt to provide for re-entry.
No. It is Museum policy that all adults must be accompanied by a child ages 17 and younger, and vice versa.
We encourage play between adults and children to share the Museum experience. Engaging in play fosters essential child-caregiver bonds by providing positive attention, mutual joy, and shared attunement, all of which are vital for children's growth and well-being.
All Museum ticket sales are final. We are able to reassign tickets to a future date and time so that you can still come and play. If you are unable to make your ticket date, please contact questions@bbcmkids.org to reschedule your visit.
The Museum offers $5 discounted tickets for SNAP/EBT cardholders through the Museums for All program. Museums for All tickets must be purchased in-person at the Museum with presentation of SNAP/EBT card.
*WIC card holders are not eligible to receive Museum for All tickets
Access Memberships can be purchased in person at the Museum with the presentation of an EBT (SNAP) or WIC card. This membership is $30 for the full year and is good for up to four people to visit at a time.
The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum is proud to be a part of the Association of Children’s Museum (ACM) Reciprocal Network. ACM reciprocity gives you a 50% discount on general admission tickets for up to 6 people. To use these benefits, please purchase your tickets in person and show your membership card along with a photo ID at our Information Desk.

Parking
PARKING ENTRANCE CHANGES!
The City of Milwaukee will be doing construction on E. Michigan Street from September through December, which will affect entering and exiting the Museum Center Park Garage. Please note the following changes:
The Michigan Street entrance and exit for the Museum Center Park garage will be CLOSED during the duration of the construction. Guests visiting the Museum will need to enter the Museum Center Park garage on Lincoln Memorial Drive, directly across from the Milwaukee Art Museum (730 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive).
The only way to exit the Museum Center Park garage will be onto Lincoln Memorial Drive.
We do have a limited number of reserved Betty Brinn Children’s Museum parking spaces on level 1 of the garage near the West Elevators. Look for signs that say “Betty Brinn Children’s Museum and Coast Restaurant Patron Parking Only”.

There is a charge for parking and we do not operate the Museum Center Park garage. Parking fees increase the longer you are parked. The kiosks only accept credit card payments when exiting and they do not accept Apple Pay or any other digital wallet payments.
