JULY 3RD FAMILY FIREWORKS


A special celebration just for Museum members & supporters!
Friday, July 3
6:30 - 11 p.m.


Our generous supporters and members are invited to our annual July 3rd Family Fireworks event! Our balconies provide the best seats on Milwaukee's lakefront for the U.S. Bank fireworks, and your tickets include a casual dinner, beverages and 4th-of-July-themed activities for the entire family. Don't miss out on this sparkler of an evening - it's always a sell-out!

$40 per adult
$25 per child
Free for children younger than 1 year

Early bird tickets – reserve early for a discounted price!

$35 per adult, $20 per child (10 and younger) and free for children younger than one year.
- Available to B-level members and above: May 26 – June 14
- Available to A-Level members and Corporate members: June 1 – June 14

Regular-price tickets – starting June 15

On Sunday, May 3, your Betty Brinn Children's Museum membership card is your ticket to:
- Charles Allis Art Museum
- Grohmann Museum
- Harley-Davidson Museum

- Pabst Mansion
- Villa Terrace Art Museum

No registration is required, just show your membership card and photo ID at the admissions desk at each venue to receive your free admission. Only the named adults and the number of children stated on your membership card will be admitted. Please check each museum’s website for hours and visitor information.

Kids don't get to have all the fun! Make Shift is a series of evening events that is adults only (no children 17 and younger). Tickets include DIY take-home projects and demonstrations of cool equipment and technology!

- Fire pit on the balcony
- Electronics demos and projects
- Sewing

MOTHER'S DAY

May 21
5 - 8 p.m.

Enjoy FREE admission and evening hours!

6 p.m.: Danceworks Youth Performance Company Dancers will share contemporary, hip hop, tap and jazz moves, and excerpts from their annual showcase "A Whimsical Waltz in Wonderland."

5 - 8 p.m.: Be A Maker Kids can design and build components for a large-scale 3D collaborative sculpture that will be displayed at BBCM, then construct their own pieces to take home. Mentors from BBCM and Milwaukee Makerspace will introduce tools, materials and techniques for endless ways to experiment and create.

Be A Maker programs during Neighborhood Night are presented by the Brady Corporation Foundation with additional support provided by Time Warner Cable, and by a grant from the City of Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Arts Board.

June 18
5 - 8 p.m.

Enjoy FREE admission and evening hours, and help our balcony blossom!
- Follow food’s journey from seed to table as you help plant the Museum’s organic garden and greenhouse, and our alphabet garden boxes with the Urban Ecology Center
- Make plantable seed paper with Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens
- Learn about the natural resources that sustain our world and ways to explore the great outdoors with the US Forest Service
- Learn how to be a Super Reader all summer long with the Milwaukee Public Library

BE A MAKER SUMMER WORKSHOP: FORM AND FUNCTION


July 13 – 16
1 – 4 p.m.

Each Be A Maker Summer Workshop is a drop-off, four-day series of activities that make for an educational and fun making experience for kids age 7 and older.

Workshops are $35 per child per day, or $120 for each four-day series. Click the link below to register. Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended.

Form and Function:
Someone designed the toothbrush you use, the clothes you wear and other stuff you depend on every day. Young makers will experience the design process, from first thought to finished product.
- Examine how design fixes problems, fills needs or feeds dreams
- Create models with shop tools and materials
- Explore computer-aided design tools
- Make prototypes with 3D printers and other technology

Enjoy free admission and evening hours along with our special literacy night!
- Families will receive a free book, a suggested summer reading list, and examples of easy, fun activities to do at home
- Stop by the Be A Maker space for a special DIY project
- Check out the Super Reader table hosted by the Milwaukee Public Library for great ideas to continue summer reading fun!
- Join a special story time at 5:30 or 6:30 p.m. and earn a half hour of reading credit in the Super Reader program.

This special Neighborhood Night was created in 2003 to help disadvantaged families in our community ensure a successful school year. Join us for free admission and evening hours, and
- Gather information from area resources
- Children entering K3 - 5th grade are eligible to receive free school supplies (while supplies last)
- Stop by the Be A Maker space for a special DIY project
