Bring a friend, bring a Nerf gun and some ammo and watch the foam darts fly! Games include Capture the Flag in the Museum's exhibit galleries, cast of characters Shooting Gallery and, back by popular demand, our Quick Draw competition.

BE A MAKER SUMMER WORKSHOP: FORM AND FUNCTION


July 13 – 16
1 – 4 p.m.

Each Be A Maker Summer Workshop is a drop-off, four-day series of activities that make for an educational and fun making experience for kids age 7 and older.

Workshops are $35 per child per day, or $120 for each four-day series. Click the link below to register. Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended.

Form and Function:
Someone designed the toothbrush you use, the clothes you wear and other stuff you depend on every day. Young makers will experience the design process, from first thought to finished product.
- Examine how design fixes problems, fills needs or feeds dreams
- Create models with shop tools and materials
- Explore computer-aided design tools
- Make prototypes with 3D printers and other technology

US BANK & FOX 6 NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT: A BOOK CAN TAKE YOU ANYWHERE LITERACY NIGHT


July 16
5 - 8 p.m.

Enjoy free admission and evening hours along with our special literacy night!
- Families will receive a free book, a suggested summer reading list, and examples of easy, fun activities to do at home
- Stop by the Be A Maker space for a special DIY project
- Check out the Super Reader table hosted by the Milwaukee Public Library for great ideas to continue summer reading fun!
- Join a special story time at 5:30 or 6:30 p.m. and earn a half hour of reading credit in the Super Reader program.

Books graciously donated by Half Price Books. Be A Maker programs during Neighborhood Night are presented by the Brady Corporation Foundation with additional support provided by Time Warner Cable.

You are electric! Learn about electronics and coding by exploring sound synthesis and music production.
- Learn to solder
- Make musical compositions with professional equipment

- Explore unconventional music-making techniques

Kids don't get to have all the fun! MakeShift is a series of evening events that is adults only (no children age 17 and younger). Tickets include DIY take-home projects and demonstrations of cool equipment and technology!

US BANK & FOX 6 NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT: BACK-TO-SCHOOL RESOURCE FAIR


August 20
5 - 8 p.m.

This special Neighborhood Night was created in 2003 to help disadvantaged families in our community ensure a successful school year. Join us for free admission and evening hours, and
- Gather information from area resources
- Children entering K3 - 5th grade are eligible to receive free school supplies (while supplies last)
- Stop by the Be A Maker space for a special DIY project

This year’s event is generously sponsored by Mike and Jennifer Keough. School supplies are graciously donated by the employees of US Bank and GE Healthcare.
