Neighborhood Night

July’s Neighborhood Night theme is Literacy Night! Visitors will have access to early literacy resources for pre-school age children and engaging activities to help prevent the “summer slide” for school-age children, including:

Neighborhood Night is presented by Northwestern Mutual Foundation with additional support provided by the Schoenleber Foundation, US Bank, the Joseph and Vera Zilber Charitable Foundation, Inc. and media sponsor FOX6.

Books are generously donated through Northwestern Mutual Make a Child Smile day, a Summerfest admission promotion. Be A Maker programs during Neighborhood Night are presented by the Brady Corporation with additional support provided by PPG.

Neighborhood Night: Celebrate the Muskego Way neighborhood

All families are invited to the Museum for free admission, a maker workshop, demonstrations, special entertainment and resource booths hosted by community agencies and organizations from the Muskego Way neighborhood. This special evening is presented in partnership with the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.

Need a Ride?
Catch the FREE round-trip bus running between the Milwaukee Christian Center (807 S. 14th St.) and the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum!

The bus will depart the Milwaukee Christian Center at 4:30 p.m.
The bus will depart the Museum at 7:30 p.m.

Call Juanita at 414-382-7430 to reserve your seat on the bus.
Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hammers and Strings Summer Camp

K – 2nd grade and 3rd – 5th grade
with Wisconsin Conservatory of Music & BBCM’s Be A Maker program
Perform experiments, be an inventor and discover what makes music “work” in this new camp. Kids will learn basic music skills, then dive into the science behind the music. It’s the only camp in town where you can play the piano in the morning and take a piano apart in the afternoon. No musical experience required!
Drop-off: Wisconsin Conservatory of Music’s McIntosh|Goodrich Mansion, Milwaukee
Pick-up: Betty Brinn Children’s Museum
Registration: $329 per child/$299 per child for Museum Members

Colors of Summer Be A Maker Workshop

Join us every Friday from 2- 4 p.m. this summer to explore the world of color through making! Kids will use tools and technology to experiment with color mixing, optical illusions and patterns as they learn about the elements and vocabulary of color. Our maker space will take on a new hue each week, from art-making robots to light-painting technology; from shadow play to 3D and garment printing! This program is recommended for children age 5 and older.
